Mo The Comedian still can’t believe Drake shout-out as he reveals he was working in Levis a year ago

Mo The Comedian has had an incredible year – going from folding clothes to selling out on his Coupla Cans tour.

And the star, who built up a huge following on social media over his hilarious comedy routine, counts Drake among his biggest fans.

Actual. Drake.

Speaking about how much everything has changed, the comic explained the whole situation is ‘crazy’ as he was working Levi’s, Covent Garden, just months ago.

‘[When I left university] I couldn’t get a job and decided to sign on. And I thought: “Oh this is adult life”. That’s why I fell into retail; it gave me the confidence to talk to people – you have to be approachable.

‘I still can’t believe how much my life has changed in a year.’

The 30-year-old – real name Mo Gilligan – has a lot to celebrate, as he’s due to film his own show with Channel 4 later this month.

But, despite Drizzy revealing himself as one of Mo’s biggest fans, he still can’t quite get his head around his success.

‘It’s mental how quickly the tour sold out,’ he continued to iNews. ‘Sometimes I turn up at venues at 6pm to set up and there are already people there, waiting to meet me.’

‘Quite a lot of people who have been coming to my tour have never been to a comedy show because they’re quite young. Or a group of lads who wouldn’t normally go to a show like that together. That’s the cool thing about what I do: I’ve created a different experience for all those people.’

He announced his new show, Mo’s Town, for Channel 4 last month, explaining it will be a mix of celebrity guests, sketches and music.

And we are so excited to see it!

Discussing the venture in a previous chat, he explained: ‘I grew up watching Channel 4, walking past the building every day on my way to school. So it’s nuts to try and get my head around the fact that I’m now making a show with them.
